I've seen Downset a couple of times now and they just keep gettin' better. The best time was without a doubt when they played Bradford Rio's (UK) with consume during their "dead Language" tour. I got my nose broke in the mosh but so what!! it was the best gig i've been to and would willingly risk a broken nose again!

I never really heard of Downset till this year at Ozzfest '97 in Pittsburgh. They play on the second stage with Coal Chamber, Neurosis, and Vision of Disorder. When Downset started to play, I was very impressed and could really get into their music. They played two good sets. After the second one, Bassist James Morris was signing autographs. I told him how much I liked the show they put on. He thanked me and gave me his autograph. Seeing him playing the bass on stage was awesome. He played with aggression and emotion and the crowd was into it as well.

Downset is my favorite band. I've listening ever since I first heard 'em in '94. I could only hope that everyone can listen to them and take into account what they say. Hey, downset is just great. The message is real, and they combine all which is good about music. I saw them in Philly at the Troc, and got to interview James Morris (bass) for my college radio station. He was a great guy, as was all if the band, who came in to the dressing room after the interview was over. They rock and more sites should be out there for them, and I can't wait to see them agiain! Downset is the coolest band I ever heard. Their music is is very deep and i can relate to most of it. Rey's vocals are great and he speaks and shouts with great emotion. James bass notes are pounding and the guitars and drums are powerful. This is a great hardcore band. I hope they tour sometime this year.

The first Downset. album blew me away completly. The mix of aggresion and almost poetic lyric was something new to me. It has continued to influence my writing style and act as a tough rule of how a lyric should be. Honest, Strong and true to your own views. Downset.. In my opinion will always be in a league of their own. The second album is another milestone to hang around the necks of the likes of Deftones and Korn, who will never reach that quality of good sounds and stronge lyrics. Oz.

Downset, in the earlier days called snap, has got influence on me. I totally agree with the lyrics. I'm from the Netherlands and I also play in a HC band called "profile 26". I have never seen Downset, they have played in my town (the hague) with Biohazard and Dog eat dog but I wasn't able to go. I saw downset at the Key Club in L.A. on Feb. 21, 1999 and the show was fuckin' bitchin. They started the set with empower and played a shitload of old tunes off of their first two albums. They also played a few new songs which fuckin' kicked ass. Rey kept handing the mic to his moshing friends in the audience. Hey later gave props to the UTI,THC, and CBS crews, and he pointed to were they were in the audience. In all my years of going to show, this was the best show I've ever seen. Long live DOWNSET!

I saw downset at the Key Club in L.A. on Feb. 21, 1999 and the show was fuckin' bitchin. They started the set with empower and played a shitload of old tunes off of their first two albums. They also played a few new songs which fuckin' kicked ass. Rey kept handing the mic to his moshing friends in the audience. He later gave props to the UTI,THC, and CBS crews, and he pointed to were they were in the audience. In all my years of going to shows, this was the best show I've ever seen. Long live DOWNSET!

Downset News: Downset just wrapped up three shows here in Hollywood and the word around town is that they are preparing for a bigger tour after their album is released. Since their record label (Mercury Records) got bought, there has been news that Downset may not get a chance to release their next album. I haven't heard anything new on this lately. From what I've seen, the band definitely still knows how to rip shit up, and their new songs kick major ass.
